Background
Hummingbird is your media to go solution; it is being developed to fulfill the need of streaming music, video and pictures to certified Android cell phones.
Hummingbird essentially lets you listen to your music, watch videos, and view photos anywhere in the world. No hard-drive or memory card is required to view, listen or watch your media files. However, performace increases with the presence of a media card or hard-drive.
How It Works
Hummingbird works in two parts:
The Hummingbird Server is a small Java application that is installed on your media filled PC. It allows you to index, catalog and stream your media files to an Android cell phone.
The Hummingbird Client installs on your media deprived Android cell phone, allowing you to watch, listen, and view stored media files from your PC on your Android cell phone.
Requirements
- A Hummingbird account
- The need to have 24/7 access to your media files from an Android based cell phone
- Android, or iPhone based cell phone (Support for additional cell phones types will be made avaliable)
- Cell phone data plan or WiFi access
- Broadband internet connection
- Intel, AMD or Mac based PC
- Java 6 or greater
- Administrator rights to the PC
